Portland Haiku

golden sun, blue sky.
light yellow, orange, and dim.
i sigh, turn around.

i see in her eyes,
the pure joy and love i feel,
shining back at me.

i am lost again,
lost in angst and self pity.
when shall i stand up?

i am awake now,
just only barely it seems.
lost in sleepy thought.

a gray day begins.
the sky is cool and silver.
no sun to be seen.

sweaty, sticky heat
seeps around soaking through stuff.
i feel kind of gross.

today is tuesday.
not quite the beginning, but…
it sure feels that way.

it is late again.
i am not surprised this time.
happens every day.

the weekend rolls by,
barely noticed but enjoyed.
see you in five days.

slowly spring comes back,
pushing away those hot days.
seasons should take turns.
