Portland Haiku

february break
has ended; here comes the rain,
and the cold again.

winter has arrived.
bringing no torrent of rain,
but a sharp cold wind

the winter deepens,
on this clear night sky; shining
stars beckoning rain.

thunder, crashing rain
from brilliant silver white clouds
playing with lightning.

rain drops spattering,
all around, splashing softly,
making me happy.

cold, wet, rain falling,
a chilly breeze nicks and cuts.
i pull up my hood.

spring light breaking through,
pushing clouds, sending rain bursts.
life trembles anew.

rain falls, not so cold.
very wet, all it touches.
i try to stay dry.

rain begins falling.
cool drops spatter, turning cold.
wet sounds all around.

a sheet of rain spreads
across the bed of portland,
drenching and soaking.
